About us

Who are we?

DIVYA is a non-profit organization led by a group of passionate high schoolers who want to make a change in their communities. Based in Durham, Ontario and over 40 volunteers strong. DIVYA promotes the phrase "BE THE CHANGE!".  We create, build and connect with our community by events and volunteer opportunities. Methods

How They Learn

DIVYA utilizes many methods to teach our volunteers the skills they need to become the leaders they are meant to be. 

Mentorship

Our volunteers have a chance to have 1 on 1 with our mentors. We talk to them so we understand how to most effectively help them.

Workshops

We hold days where volunteers learn the special skills they need to be leaders of the future, and the skills to succeed in life. 

Cultural Awareness Programs

We have programs dedicated to specific festivals or events of cultural importance, we learn about all cultures and their beliefs. 

Soft Skills Training

We find our volunteers weakness and work on improving them, we make sure that all our volunteers are proficient in all aspects of their lives.

Future Events

DIVYA's Dance

A night for highschoolers to dance, party and connect together. We are inviting all highschoolers to join us in this event. Registration Info will be sent out soon.

Food Drive

In partnership with our local firefighters, DIVYA will be hosting a food drive to support our local food shelters and various other locations.

Adopt A Park

We are excited to announce that in partnership with City of Ajax. DIVYA has adopted Galea Pond & Miles Park and is in works with the city to create a date to clean the park.
Co-Founders

Our Founders

Avni Jain

A Grade 9 Gifted and Performing Arts student at O’Neill Collegiate and Vocational Institute and a Sea Cadet for 6 years. Avni has a love for writing poetry, playing instruments and hanging out with her family and friends.

Astitva Srivastava

A grade 10 gifted student at Pickering High School doing taekwondo for 9 years, and a DECA executive for his school. Astitva likes to play video games, read books and do volunteer work for the betterment of the community.

Vedant Lakhatariya

Proficient with photography, content creation and graphic design. Vedant has been the RCAC Program for 5 years and has achieved the rank of Flight Sargent (FSgt).

Dr. Anjali Agrawal

Anjali Agrawal, MD, is a clinical IT consultant with over 25 years experience in Healthcare and IT. Beyond the office, she is dedicated to community service and volunteering.

Anjali Jain

Having a strong sense of leadership and bouncing on every opportunities given to her, without her, DIVYA's events cannot be held at such a grand scale. 

Shweta Srivastava

Shweta Srivastava is known for having a solution to any problem. Without her DIVYA would not have had as many volunteers as we have now.

The people who devote countless time to ensure that our volunteers have the tools and resources they need to become the leaders of the future. 

Hari Raghavan

Known for his "I don't give up" style of life, Hari is our resource advisor, without him we wouldn't have had these amazing volunteer alongside us.
